All-over Antique Persian Kashan Floral Rug. 1940 ca. A rare Kashan carpet with an all-over, full-field design. The design, rather unusual for the production of Kashan carpets, is certainly evidence of how varied the artistic and decorative heritage is in Persian carpets and in Kashan in particular. The motifs on an ivory background alternate set-in sinuous spirals, the cypress tree, symbol of the continuity between earthly life and celestial life, and vases decorated and adorned with delicious bouquets of roses. The chromatic balance across the entire surface makes this Kashan carpet particularly elegant and refined. The border of this antique Kashan carpet is well modulated and rich in floral motifs. These motifs combine perfectly in terms of shapes and rich color composition, enhancing all the details highlighted by the shades of color. This antique Kashan carpet is in excellent condition and ready to be welcomed and embellished with a new furniture.
