Antique Persian Bidjar (Bijar) Carpet, XIX Century.

A magnificent Persian Bijar artefact on a carmine red background. The dimensions place this product among the “kelleh” formats, that is, those carpets in which the length is approximately double its width. They are wrongly considered runners, they are real carpets that can be used as real protagonists in a living room. The background is dominated by an oblong polygonal medallion connected to two rhomboidal pendants. The herati motif, in plays and alternations of colour, fills the medallion and pendants with very rare shades of green, red and ivory profiles. The yellow counterborders are magnificent and reinforce the contrast with the background and the border on a dark blue background which brings a stylization of the simplified herati motif. A Bijar carpet with a sober, decisive and elegant character, capable of coexisting with any type of setting. Excellent state of conservation. Explore our collection of Persian rugs.
