Rug Description

Antique Caucasia Bijov rug. 1900-1920. A very particular antique Caucasian Bigiov carpet with unusual internal “lattice” decoration with a serrated profile. The richness of colors and the quality of the wool allow us to perceive the excellent quality of this antique Caucasian Bigiov carpet from the first glance. The main border of this antique Bigiof carpet bears the multicolored “eagle’s beak” motif on an ivory background. The first border, the outermost one, bears the carnation motif, where the green tones stand out elegantly. The background of this Caucasian Bigiov carpet, on a brown background, with graceful matching abrash, is decorated with tulip motifs, zoomorphic elements and traditional motifs. The state of conservation of this rug is excellent, carefully kept in the Mollaian Rugs collection
