Rug Description

Antique Caucasian Krabak rug. Ca 1880. An elegant antique Caucasian Karabak carpet with all over herati motif design. The background of this antique Karbabak carpet on a dark blue background fully represents the classic Persian style of the herati motif in which European french style is flanked at border. The colors are very soft and warm and the design is well modulated across the entire surface. The “gul farang” style border embraced by the traditional style borders is very interesting. The state of conservation of this antique Caucasian Karabak carpet is excellent, carefully preserved in the Mollaian Rugs collection.
