Antique Caucasian Karabak (Qarabak) kelley size rug all over design. XIX Century. An extraordinary antique Caucasian Karabak carpet with Mina Khani design, or garden design. The background of this antique Karabak carpet with a midnight blue background is defined by the profile of a lattice joined by polychrome rosette motifs that adorn the entire surface all over. The color palette is very varied and harmoniously combined on the decorative motifs, giving us a colorful and defined visual effect. The side borders of this antique Karabak carpet on an intense yellow background bear the modular cloud collar motif, while the central one has a much more rigorous and rigid character in the hooked diamond motifs. The wools are soft and bright, the knotting is fine and compact. The state of conservation of this antique Karabakh carpet is excellent.
