Antique Caucasian Lezghi Bold Design Hand-Knotted Rug, 1950-1970 ca.A Caucasian carpet attributable to the Lesghi manufactures with an eight-pointed star. In this example on a red background, the eight-pointed stars are decidedly more rounded than in the older examples. Three stars, like central medallions in succession, dominate the background of this artefact. The Kufic style borders are very well arranged in a magnificent color combination making this rug traditional and modern at the same time. Excellent state of conservation.
