Rug Description
This is a Caucasian Lezghi rug woven in the Caucasus mountains circa 1880. The field design is made up of repeating Lezghi star motifs. The main border is designed with alternating polychrome sickle leaf motifs and the minor borders are made using groups of alternating colored stripes. This rug is woven on an all-wool foundation and has 100% wool pile. It is in top condition with an extremely fine weave and is ready to be used and enjoyed for many years.
