Rug Description

Antique Caucasian Kazak Adler Rug. 1920. A typical carpet with a so-called Adler design (from German: Eagle). The background of this elegant Caucasian Kazak “adler” carpet on dark blu contains the four motifs of eagles with spread wings. This motif is interpreted in a medallion style or, as in this case, in the shape of a sunburst star. The medallions of this antique Caucasian Kazak carpet alternate in the color of pink and petrol green with some very fascinating nuances and abrash. Small rosettes run scattered and in a row on the background. The ivory-colored borders give particular brightness to this antique Kazak Adler while also offering chromatic movement thanks to the interspersing of the borders with a carnation motif. The main border of this ancient Caucasian Kazak carpet in warm red contains a very airy stylization of the herati motif. The state of conservation of this antique Caucasian Kazak “adler” carpet is excellent, ready to be hosted in a new environment.
