The midnight blue background welcomes polychrome motifs in various sizes and shapes, giving liveliness and brightness to the background. The modular design of the background of this ancient Kuba rug, are executed in a masterly manner, both in terms of proportions, color combinations and decorative style. Very interesting are the minor borders with a “carnation” design and the main border with a “kufic” motif which at the same time, offers further brightness to this rare “runner” rug made in the Quba area in Azerbaijan.
