Rug Description
This is a silk and metal thread Chinese rugs woven during the end of the 19th century. During this period, China produced a limited production of silk Souf carpets with signatures of the temples within the forbidden city. This is one of the carpets woven during that period, and it is made of a cotton foundation, 100% silk pile, and the background is a flat weave made of metal threads. The design of the rug is made up of nine dragons and the border is decorated with cloud motifs. This rug is in exceptional condition and is ready to be enjoyed or added to any collection.
