Rug Description
This is a silk and metal thread Chinese rug woven during the end of the 19th century. These silk and metal threaded rug with the name of a temple at the top of them were woven for the temples in the forbidden city. They are highly collectible and are a piece of Chinese history and culture. This example has the nine dragon design with the traditional cloud border and has remained in perfect full pile condition. This rug has been cleaned and is ready to be added to any home or serious collection.
