Rug Description
Antique Long Runner Khotan Rug, XIX Century. A magnificent and rare “Saff” carpet, i.e. with prayer niches arranged horizontally; in this case seven delicious mirhabs. A carpet with warm, lively tones in which pastel colors blend with more saturated ones. In every niche we find references to the culture and tradition from Eastern Turkestan. Small fruits and pomegranate trees alternate with lotus motifs and oblique lines to enhance the cusp of the mirhab. The rainbow cloud motif border is well distributed along its entire length. Excellent state of conservation. Explore our collection of special antique rugs.
