Rug Description
Small Yarkand Antique Silk Rug. 1800-1820. A very rare example of a carpet made in the Yarkand oases, Eastern Turkestan with a silk pile. On the golden yellow background, the motif of the pomegranate tree and peach trees in bloom develops. There are corrosions on the pile which do not affect the visual effect of the entire carpet. The “T” motif runs along the border. On the upper part of this antique silk Yarkand, there is an abrash, offering further charm to this fantastic specimen. Considering the materials and the age, the state of conservation is still very good. Explore our collection of antique Silk rugs.
