Rug Description

This is a well-known and special “khesti design” Bakhtiari carpet with the signature: “Ordered by Excellency Mr Nasir Khàn Sàrem al-Molk …, Produced by Bakhtiari, The year 1324”. Nasir khan was a well-known parliament member from Bakhtiari tribe.

In this unique carpet, the field is geometrically divided into symmetrical squares, which have contrasting images and color schemes. Each compartment has attractive pictures uniquely designed with decorative plants. The astonishing fact about signed rugs is that they are not woven by any ordinary weaver but are produced in special workshops run by a few people who properly oversee every aspect of the weaving process.
