Persian Bijar (Bidjar) Antique Rug, 1880-1900 ca. Carpets made in the Bijar (Bidjar) area are very varied in their decorative composition. In this antique Persian Bijar carpet we can appreciate the ability of the knotters to know how to combine knotting technique and types of decorations, an excellent mix between traditional motifs and those of more urban inspiration. In this Persian Bijar carpet, we can see how the composition of the design embraces the entire background interrupted by a double central medallion, inside which we find the stylization of the “rosette” typical of Bijar productions. The visual graphic effect obtained by adding the pendants to the medallion is very interesting that seems to blend into the intricate herati design on a midnight blue background. The dimensions of this antique Persian Bijar carpet are rather small, allowing it to be placed in any setting even as a complementary element to another carpet in the same room. This carpet favors classic settings but can also coexist in an excellent quality rustic setting. Professionally washed, this rug is ready to embellish any room in your home.
