Antique Persian Bijar (Bidjar) Vaghire Rug, ca 1880-1900. A wonderful little antique Persian Bijar Vaghire with warm and delicate tones. The vaghireh are small models or reference samples from which to draw inspiration in the creation of a new carpet. With the introduction of millimeter cartoons where the carpet was literally designed by order of knots, proportions, decorations and colours, with the Vaghireh, there was a detailed vision in small portions of how to create a carpet on request. In this special antique Persian Bijar vaghireh, we can see the various elements that make up a carpet, that is, main borders, motifs filling the background, a portion of a medallion and small serrated minor borders. A true treasure chest of ethnic and cultural treasures, enclosed in less than fifty square centimetres. This small Persian Bijar vaghireh fully embodies the capacity for synthesis and refinement of Persian master knotters in knowing how to interpret any type of decorative style in very small spaces.
