Rug Description

This Persian Dorokhsh Carpet has a soft light red field with meandering floral and leafy vine together with bold rosettes around large ivory and shaded blue panels, each containing polychrome palettes floral tendrils and rosette centrepiece. In deep indigo border of serrated palmettes and angular floral vine between ivory and light blue flowering vine stripes. Outer plain stripe.

Very good example from North-East Persia. Well balanced colours and nicely drawn design. Bold appearance. This carpet had good pile, good wool quality and in general is in very good condition. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes,secured. Very good square size. Attractive and very great  furnishing piece.
