Rug Description
The Qashqai tribe is one of the most famous nomadic tribes of Persia and to this day they are one of the only tribes that continue to practice their nomadic traditions. The tribe is made up of a conglomerate of the surrounding groups and this rug is from the Kashkuli group. This example is made of 100% wool and was woven in southwest Persian during the mid 19th century. The field of the rug is designed with repeating paisley motifs set on a unique beige background sounded by a brick red border that creates a great color contrast. This rug is in perfect condition and considering its age and being a rug that was woven for the use of the nomadic family it has stood the test of time.
