And antique Heriz carpet, North-West Persia.
Size, approx: 440cm. x 325cm.
The light rust field with hooked palmettes and angular floral vine around indigo hooked and stepped floral cartouche medallion with large hooked pendants enclosing smaller floral medallion and hooked panel centrepiece. Wide ivory floral spandrels. In and indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes between floral meander and zig-zag stripes. Classic for this type with very nicely blended colours. Apart of very slight localised wear to the top pile, barely visible this carpet is in very good usable condition throughout. Ends with short fringes, secured, one with slightly fraying to the guard stripe in few places. Selvages rebound, well done. Very good furnishing carpet. Attractive piece.
