Persian Heriz Serapi Rug, ca 1900. An antique Persian Heriz carpet of rare dimensions compared to the decidedly larger standard formats. In this case, we are faced with a semi-square carpet, rarely found on the market. In this antique Heriz carpet We can appreciate a transitional decorative style, the rigid and clear lines are softened by the contrasts and the lush shape of the central eight-pointed lobed medallion. Unlike many other examples made in this area, the pendants almost tend to camouflage themselves on the madder red surface of the background. The ivory corners are carefully decorated, defining the contrasts and filling and contour motifs with great skill and elegance. The main border, on a midnight blue background, is adorned with herati motifs in a succession of alternations and chromatic varieties. This magnificent Heriz antique Persian carpet can coexist with a classic, rustic or modern habitat, always guaranteeing an excellent visual effect. Professionally washed, it can be used without problems in a sofa area, in an important professional studio, under an oval or round table.
