Antique Persian Kashan (Dabir). 1920-1950. Among the famous Persian factories of the 20th century, and especially of the city of Kashan, that of the Dabir “atelier” was among the most fruitful and original in the decorative composition of many of the carpets made between 1920 and 1950. In this splendid carpet Kashan “Dabir”, we can appreciate the classic decorative style in the composition of the floral elements, with small and very detailed dimensions. This Kashan “Dabir” can be defined as a “Niche” or Mirhab carpet due to the design that develops in a single direction culminating in a “niche”. Both the main niche at the top and the other lower perimeter compositions are surrounded by a dense multicolored floral lattice. On a midnight blue background, small bouquets and floral compositions stand surrounding the main element, a very finely decorated vase that culminates in an elegant triangular-shaped bouquet. The borders, on a red background, are well modulated and the chromatic alternation lightens the visual impact on the very defined and distributed background of the carpet. This Kashan “Dabir” has a very dense knotting and the definition of the designs and colors is extraordinary. The state of conservation of this antique Kashan “Dabir” carpet is excellent, carefully kept and ready to be a new protagonist of a new environment.
