Rug Description

Pictorial Antique Persian Kashan Dabir Rug, 1920. The great mastery and versatility of the Persian knotters always manages to amaze and, probably, this artistic heritage helps us to recognize the extraordinary ability in the creation of figurative carpets, tapestry style, inspired by the themes of the Persian epic and allegory in the works of Ferdousi, Hafez and other Persian poets. In this very particular Kashan carpet with the inscription Kashan Dabir al Sanaye’, we could find a scene inspired by the Shāh-Nāmeh (“Book of Kings”), the national epic of the kings of Persia by Firdusi or more plausibly, a representation of the garden of Fin or Bagh-e Fin. The natural wool colored background contains the scene of a garden where the meeting takes place between two lovers surrounded by the radiant spring flora. The borders of this antique Kashan rugs contain couples in love who scan the phases of courtship. An antique Kashan Dabir al Sanaye’ carpet in excellent condition; a still image of a recreational moment of the refined Persian world.
