Square Antique Pictorial Persian Kashan Dabir Rug, 1880-1900. A very rare antique Kashan Dabir carpet in square format with a pictorial decorative style that we could define as “en plan air”. Extremely fine in knotting and thanks to the skilful use of wools and dyes, every detail of the landscape scene represented is easily identifiable with suggestive contrasts. This antique Kashan Dabir carpet has a very interesting main border; small and delightful cartouches, like postcards, depict glimpses of landscapes with monuments and panoramas. The background of this ancient Kashan Dabir is particularly defined both from a perspective point of view and in contrasts. The purple and fuchsia colors gracefully stand out, highlighting the passages of the flower garden below with the monumental part, almost offering a three-dimensional effect before resting the gaze on the mountains behind. Furthermore, the background in various shades of blue of the sky is very refined, interrupted by the flight of birds and two trees on the sides with pistachio green fronds. Considering the small size, this Kashan Dabir carpet fully reflects the mastery in carpet design that only great masters like Dabir can achieve. This antique Kashan carpet is in impeccable condition.
