Manchester wools take this name because of the spinning carried out in the city of the same name. The continuous demand for Persian carpets in the West led to the use of Manchester (Merino) wool, providing a further stimulus for the Kashan carpet producers who increased and consolidated their fame in best satisfying the taste in high-end furnishings of European and American bourgeoisie. In this Kashan Manchester, we have a classic medallion design. In this period the production of carpets with a less dense design, larger flowers and a smaller chromatic composition compared to the other classic carpets of the period began. In this Kashan lane Manchester carpet, we can read the design very clearly and appreciate the sobriety of the tones which appear warm and particularly elegant. The borders on a midnight blue background are harmoniously decorated with floral motifs, each featuring the same ones present in the background.
