Rug Description
This is an antique silk Kashan mat rug woven in central Persian circa 1900. Finding a small silk Kashan is uncommon and having one with this design makes this example a truly rare piece. The design of this rug is centered around the Great White Egret with a mihrab above it being supported by two side pillars. It makes use of soft pastel colors and a multicolored silk foundation. This example has been preserved in excellent condition and is mounted onto a board.
