Rug Description
Pair of Antique Persian Kashan Silk “Forutan” Rug
very rare pair of Kashan carpets in ivory ground silk on which to get lost in the design defined by the very open “Islimi” motif. The profiles of the junctions of the leaves that chase each other in rounded and sinuous lines, trace the design of a “transparent” medallion filled with colorful floral motifs. The border on the same background color as the background is very interesting; this is enriched with small “islimi” motifs interspersed with pretty multicolored palmettes. The quality of the colors is as splendid as the definition of the design. Both carpets are “signed” Forutan, in pure silk and in excellent condition. Explore our collection of Kashan rugs.
