A fine antique Manchester Kashan carpet, Central Persia
Size, approx: 509cm. x 358cm.
The field with soft raspberry-red field with overall diagonal rows of large multicoloured flowering vases. In an indigo border of polychrome angular floral sprays, floral meandering and birds between arabesque, floral meander and plain stripes. Great example for this type, seldom food in the market. Classic colours, well balanced. This carpet has full pile, superb soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout.
Very attractive and elegant piece.
