A very high quality small celebratory rug attributed to the Motahsham workshop. Usually figurative or pictorial carpets are made to pay homage to a great historical and religious figure or to a regent still in office. This carpet represents the figure of the dignatary Ahmad Shah Qajar (1898-1932). A real piece of history that helps us to understand the Persian history of the past century also through carpets.
