A fine antique Kirman Laver carpet, South Persia
Size, approx: 429cm. x 326cm.
The pale peach filed with multicoloured serrate palmettes, floral and leafy vine around large pale beige indented floral medallion with pendants containing similar deep indigo smaller floral medallion and rosette centrepiece. Scrolling floral and leafy vine spandrels. In light beige border of polychrome e palmettes, arabesques and flowering vine between light blue and pale terracotta floral vine stripes. Outer plain stripe. Very good type with good colour combination and very nicely drawn bold design. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous wool. quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout, very attractive and great furnishing piece.
