Rug Description

An antique Ziegler-Mahal carpet, West Persia The shaded blue field with overall design of various polychrome palmettes, angular floral and leafy vine. Sandy-yellow spandrels similar. In and indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes and angular floral vine between, chain, hooked motif and plain stripes.

Very good example for this type with good colours and well drawn design. This carpet has good pile. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. I’m general this carpet is in very good usable condition. Attractive and elegant piece.
