Rug Description

Antique Persian Nain Tudeshk Rug, 1920 ca. The Nain Tudeshk carpets took place near the city of Nain, in the village Tudeshk. The fame achieved by Tudeshk carpets has spread since the beginning, for the refinement and balance of colors, the extraordinary fineness of the cotton knotting, equiparable to the finest carpets with a silk base. In this magnificent semi-antique Nain Tudeshk carpet, we are privileged to be able to admire one of rare beauty. The background design of this Nain Tudeshk, in pale red, is dominated by a central medallion on a blue background and framed by hazelnut inserts. At the bases of the medallion’s pendants, sinuous spirals rise, offering a pleasant visual impact, as well as enhancing the modularity of the floral motifs, clear and well contrasted across the entire surface. The borders of this semi-ancient Nain Tudeshk, despite the midnight blue background, are particularly bright thanks to the play of color inside and to the two lateral borders on an ivory background, almost as if they define small cartouches. The compact, soft and bright wools give a very pleasant light and dark effect on one side and the other. This semi antique Nain Tudeshk carpet is in excellent condition.
