Rug Description

A massive fine antique Tabriz Haji-jalili carpet, North-West Persia
Size, approx: 617cm. x 446cm.
The shaded light rust plain fiend with large ivory stepped herati design medallion with pendants containing bold polychrome floral centrepiece. Linked herati spandrels similar. In an indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes , scrolling floral and lefty vine between multiple flowering vine and outer plain stripes. Very good example for this type with very good colours and well drawn design. This carpet has good pile, soft and lustrous wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with shaker fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout. Great furnishing piece. Very attractive.
