Rug Description
This is an antique Tabriz carpet woven in northwest Persia during the second quarter of the 20th century circa 1940 and measures 474 x 346 CM in size. This piece has a unique design and color palette which makes the center medallion highly attractive and decorative. the border consists of alternating blue and red medallions designed with floral and arabesque motifs set on a beige background color which gives color contrast against the red-colored medallion. located at the center of the top of the rug can be found the weaver’s signature which states his name “Ali Farshbaf’” Which adds to its collectability and desirability. This piece has been preserved in excellent condition and has retained most of its full pile and is ready to be used and enjoyed for many more generations.
