Rug Description
This is a semi-antique Tehran rug woven in North Central Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century circa 1940 and measures 325x 225CM in size. It has a highly intricate all-over field design which contains rows of alternating shrub and vase motifs with protruding vines with blossoming flowers and bird motifs scattered throughout the piece. many of the flowers throughout the field have been woven using silk pile which is a unique feature and adds to its luxurious feel. The border is made up of repeating shrub and Paisley motifs surrounded by a continuous vine design with blossoming flowers set on a beige background color. this piece has been preserved in excellent condition retaining all its original full pile which makes it’s a highly practical piece to be used and enjoyed in any modern or traditional setting.
